I enrolled in K9 Nose Work classes 2015 after adopting a Human and Dog Reactive Border Collie who didn’t cope leaving the house. We were hooked after the first class. Because it was a safe environment, he went from barely coping with only the instructor in the room to having a class full of fellow students. His confidence has continued to soar and he still attends classes twice weekly. When not in class we are often out searching and exploring a range of environments which once wouldn’t have been possible. I started instructing in 2020 and love witnessing the dogs love for the game develop and seeing their confidence grow each week. Seeing the partnership strengthen between the dog and handler is beautiful to see. I’ve been fortune to have grown up around dogs my entire life, operated a Pet Business for many years and Undertook Cert 3 in Dog Training at NDTF in 2013. I’m currently undertaking the CNWI course. You will often see me attending classes, instructing or sitting in on classes or chatting about the various ways Noseworks can be used to help nervous dogs. I have a soft spot for those dogs that are struggling. It’s an addictive sport and I love the inclusive culture K9Nosetime has created.
