This class is all about building confidence, having fun and laying the foundations for search skills in your puppy. Puppies of all ages can join or any dog that hasn’t yet been introduced to odour.
Intro to Odour – Birch
Intro Series – Primary (food or toys)
In this fun and interactive class, we introduce essential handler skills to help strengthen your teamwork and communication. You’ll refine your understanding of the game, enhance your dog’s independence, and prepare your team for the exciting introduction of target odour—and beyond!
Intro to Odour – Anise & Clove
Intro Series
In this class, you will:

Introduce your dog to target odour in a clear and straightforward way that’s easy for both dog and handler to understand.

Develop your dog’s understanding of odour and how it moves in different environments.

Maintain and build on the enthusiasm and drive established in the Intro series.

Continue to strengthen your teamwork while having fun!
Handling Skills – Novice – Exc. NW1/NW2
Designed for dogs who are proficient on all sport odours, this class focuses on:

Transitioning between hides

Start line routines and strategies

Intentional handling

Handling in the absense of odour

Building partnership through the lead.
Pooling, converging and close proximity
Designed for dogs who are proficient on all sport odours, this class focuses on:

How to read your dog on pooling and converging odour.

Causes and different types of pooling and converging

Setting up training scenarios to mimic these puzzles.

Sourcing Skills – Alerts & Communication
Alert Academy: Fine tune your dogs communication so it crystal clear and trial ready.
Designed for dogs who are proficient on all sport odours, this class focuses on breaking down your dogs response to odour, working through the behavior chain and strengthening your dogs decision making process and communication at source.
Containers – Novice, Advanced and Nose Work 1
Designed for dogs who are proficient on all sport odours, this class focuses on:
Unlock the box: the key to containers. Understanding and context for containers. Leash handling to get the most out of your container search.

Odour Series
“Where dogs solve the puzzles”
True partnership involves understanding your teammate’s strengths – and solving odour problems is your dog’s superpower! This class is about providing your dog with a range of learning experiences and challenges.
Topics covered include: odour movement, understanding search environments, how to set appropriate challenges, handler mechanics, covering a search area, converging odour, hides in multiple planes, layered challenges
