Alison Woolcott, CNWI
Alison is a Certified K9 Nose Work Instructor – CNWI – and works part-time at K9 Nose Time
Alison‘s professional working life has been in the entertainment industry for some 20+ years.
Alongside her work, dogs have been an integral part of Alison‘s life and family, with her dog training background starting at age 13 with her Golden Retriever, ‘Trudy’ at Northern Suburbs Dog Training Club. In the years since then, Alison has owned, trained and loved 2 mixed breed dogs and 6 bearded collies. A keen interest in K9 behaviour continued into her adult life, leading her on various paths in the dog world, before discovering and falling in love with the activity of K9 Nose Work.
Initially starting Nose Work classes with two of her dogs, this quickly led to Alison gaining her qualifications in the K9 Nose Work methodology as a CNWI, and she has been working with K9 Nose Time as an Instructor since 2021.
The enrichment side of Nose Work is what continues to motivate Alison as an Instructor. Supporting teams to reach their personal goals together is her main aim ….whether that be competing in the sport of nose work/scent work teams simply coming to class each week for the confidence building and enrichment it brings to their dogs, and for the community it brings.
Alison did some trialing with her beardie ‘Rafferty’ before covid lockdowns and has continued on with 2 of her younger dogs more recently; however her real happy place in all thing’s education and learning, instructing and volunteering , while continuing to train all her (5) dogs, and take classes with them when possible.
